Review of The Yes Men Fix the World (2009) by Jayden C — 09 Aug 2010
Depressingly optimistic documentary which shows The Yes Men pranking their way through to spread there glorious anti-capitalistic message. It's not as good as their first fantastic doco The Yes Men, this one is far more ambitious.
It's message is a optimistic and the pranks are quite well done (the BBC interview is brilliant). It's kind of a let down, however, in the fact that I, cynically, do not share their optimistic outlook that things CAN change and will soon.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I want desperately for change but there's that nagging voice of jaded realism that says, 'Well, hang on a moment. Experience says this cannot be achieved'. I don't know, I also noticed this feeling of despair in Michael Moore's latest doco.
It's kinda leading to frustration, which would make me mad. Maybe I smell a hint of revolution brewing in the air? One can only hope.
