Review of The Yellow Handkerchief (2009) by Curt M — 28 Mar 2012
This is an indie road picture film starring the great William Hurt, whose character is just released from prison. He meets up with the characters played by Kristen Stewart and Eddie Redmayne. The road trip is interlaced with flashbacks from a relationship the Hurt's character had prior to his term in prison.
There's little original in the scrip; even the ending is rather pedestrian and predictable, but the magic is in the performances of the three primary characters, which I liked and cared about quickly.
This film flew by and I couldn't wait to see how it ended. Easily four stars worthy for a well executed, smartly paced indie flick.
