Review of The Year My Voice Broke (1987) by Vicki C — 03 Jan 2008
I only have to see the opening credits and hear the music that accmpanies them and it's tissue box time! The characters are so haunting, lost and painfully awkward that you feel like reaching out to cuddle them one by one and salve their deep wounds and insecurities.
The beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW enhance the visual splendour of Duigan's artful direction. The entire movie is a journey well worth taking and leaves you enriched at the end.
