Review of The Wrong Trousers (1993) by Bruce W — 02 Feb 2012
The Wrong Trousers (1993), is one of the first three 30 minute shorts featuring absent minded Wallace and his very intelligent dog Gromit, the other two being A Grand Day Out (1989) and A Close Shave (1995).
Followed by another short A Matter of Loaf and Death (2008) and a full length feature film The Curse of the Were-Rabbit (2005). The characters and plots as such reflect picturesque idyllic peasantry English life, interrupted by quirky inventions, dastardly villains and of course cheese!.
The name of the studio AARDMAN itself comes from Hardwork(Aardwork in non-city English) and Superman! The characters are absolutely lovable and animation is top class. All the films have either been nominated or have won academy awards.
Its sad that most of the set pieces involved in breathing life into these priceless plasticine plot rarities were lost in the 2005 studio fire. Ignore the 10% plus ignorant lowlife here and introduce yourself to the grand cracking world of Wallace and Gromit!!!
