Review of The Wrong Trousers (1993) by Lachlan K — 04 Aug 2016
When I was six our school went to see the duo's feature length debut (a similar masterpiece) and fearing for her darling son's emotional welfare as mothers do she showed me this film to ensure that I would be well prepared.
The film which I thought would be a scary action flick left me wide eyed with wonder and even now 11 years later I still recognise the genius, the build up of tension, the pop culture references (a must have for any animated flick it seems) but most of all, the attention to detail, with the scene of the hapless wallace robbing a bank particularly amazing me which may have taken nick park for years to perfect but was certainly worth it.
Aardman created a masterpiece here just by having all the tension built up through the raise of an eyebrow.
