Review of The Wrestler (2008) by James A — 09 Nov 2013
A powerful performance by Rourke and a film worthy of its positive critical acclaim. Rourke magnificently captures the anguish of a sports star in decline, but should be congratulated not just on his acting, but also on the superb physical condition he achieved for this role.
This is especially true when you consider that at 56 most men are fighting middle age spread and not steroid fuelled muscle men.
