Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Stephanie K — 30 Sep 2011
This is the most depressing movie I've seen recently but also very powerful and true-to-life. While it seems unlikely, there are thematic similarities between "The Wrestler" and "Black Swan," which was also directed by Darron Aronofsky.
He said in an interview that the two movies actually started as one idea, and that he thinks they should be seen as companion films. I totally agree.
