This may be the performance of the year. Mickey Rourke is Randy "The Ram" Robinson, a past-his-prime wrestler unwilling to accept his fading glory. Supported by good performances from Marisa Tomei and Evan Rachel Wood, the film rests solely on Rourke's suffering and determination.
It is simultaneously a hopeful and sad film.
