Review of The Wrestler (2008) by Nick T — 23 Mar 2012
If ever there was someone in the history of the Academy Awards who deserves the oscar, It's Mickey Rourke in The Wrestler. One of the realest, most hard hitting, most naturalistic and breathtaking performances I have ever witnessed in a movie. And before I watched this I was skeptical about whether or not the fuzz over his performance was entirely accurate. But he blew me away completely.
And how good is the movie? Well let's just say it rivals 'Raging Bull' as one of the greatest sports movies of all time.
