Mickey Rourke and Darren Aronofsky manage to create a run-down, drug using wrestler who you love and root for the whole film. Randy is an extremely complicated character and Rourke plays him with a gentleness you wouldn't associate with a wrestler, let alone Mickey Rourke himself.

A lot of the film was actually shot handheld, but it was shot so well, the camera was totally invisible. Maybe even more so than if had been shot conventionally. You were right there with Randy "The Ram" Robinson through all of his emotional roller coaster.

The ending so fantastic and heart-wrenching. Because you knew what was going to happen, the characters knew what was going to happen, and no one could stop it. Randy's talk with Marisa Tomei and his speech to the crowd were the perfect punches.
