Review of The World's Fastest Indian (2005) by Kody N — 22 May 2008
This movie is a great family film and more than anything, reminded me of my Dad. First of all, the title is all wrong. I would have preferred the title â??Offerings to the God of Speedâ?? because the real title is misleading.
Itâ??s not about a Native American, itâ??s about a Kiwi (from New Zealand) coming to America to compete for the land speed record. The Indian is his motorcycle, but itâ??s never about his motorcycle, itâ??s about himâ?¦and thatâ??s what makes the movie awesome.
Heâ??s so innocent and yet heâ??s so friendly and excited about what he does and where heâ??s from. I fell in love with this movie because itâ??s about passion. You route for him throughout the whole movie and feel good when he gets a break and feel bad when he does succeed.
He reminds me of my Dad because he has to pee a lot and whenever he meets someone he introduces himself and is very cheerful and charming. If you know my Dad, youâ??ll know what I mean. Plus, heâ??s old.
Needless to say, this movie isnâ??t a must see but itâ??s a sure thing. You donâ??t have to see it, but if you do, youâ??ll enjoy it. Itâ??d make a great Sunday movie. I loved it. My vote: 8. PS>Anthony Hopkinâ??s acting really makes this movie!
