Review of The World's End (2013) by Annie O — 20 Apr 2015
The World's End is the last movie of the Three Flavor Cornetto trilogy that made this the most hilarious trilogy of all time in my opinion. Edgar Wright and Simon Pegg really know how to write hilarious jokes, even the quick ones which come out of nowhere, but still leaves you laughing at the same time.
It's nice that you don't really know what they are, and are just guessing what it is like the main characters. The effects are great, and the fight scenes are very entertaining to watch, but also kind of funny that the main characters are drunk and are facing them.
Simon Pegg and Nick Frost are a hilarious pair as usual, and the movie brings in a group of supporting cast who are great and have funny moments. It's really nice to see that in the trilogy, Simon Pegg's characters are different.
Nick Frost does play the best friend type, but the way they portray it are also different too. The plot is the most ridiculous out of it all, but it usually is when you start drinking, and it gets really funny.
It does go into a bit of drama which works as you get to feel sorry for them, even for the main character. It gets more and more crazy that when it goes silently, it felt like you were drunk too and got a hangover as a result of it.
The World's End is a wonderful way to end the trilogy, and with a bang too.
