Review of The World's End (2013) by Jacob W — 20 May 2015
I'll start with what's wrong with Wright's masterpiece. It's an odd story that holds itself together with being absurdly silly all the way up to the vey end. Wright attempts to do something outrageous and until "the lights go out" he does accomplish such a task.
After the downfall and to include the very peak of the downfall is a bit of a setback and lets down the brilliance that led to. Now, let me add that this is a small hiccup in an otherwise perfect comedy.
Wright is amazing in his unique style of storytelling that is truly awesome to watch. He doesn't just let his characters tell jokes, the whole film is a hoot. The dialogue is very quick-witted to an amazing extent.
It's very intelligently written and the action scenes are very impressive for a comedy. The final look at the main character's story was a bit less moving than I was hoping and somewhat expecting, but it does more to win a meaning for its silliness than the vast majority of comedies that are this funny, what few there are.
Overall, the boys have delivered yet another incredible film and quite possibly the best. (91%).
