Review of The World's End (2013) by Jake A — 03 Jul 2017
The finale to the Three Flavours Cornetto trilogy tackles the science fiction genre after Shaun of the Dead tackled horror and Hot Fuzz tackled action films and even though the comedy is less parodical of the genre it is situated in like the previous films it replaces that with more in depth characters and comedy that is equally more grounded and overblown.
It does this by making the interplay between the characters not only funny but emotional while having the action scenes not just entertaining but also funny in how it is slapstick and somewhat playful.
The cast is also great, the script once again is excellent, the soundtrack/score is the best of the three, the action is solid and the editing is once again frenetic but not tiring.
