Review of The World Is Not Enough (1999) by Wez C — 10 Aug 2009
The worst Brosnan Bond film in my opinion. Although there are no serious problems with the film, it just feels dull and boring. I've watched this film a few times and doesn't feel fresh, where as Goldeneye always has that watchability.
The cast all perform their parts well (even Denise Richards!) and it's about time this film manages to make 'M' more of a 3 demensional character and giving her more involvement with the plot, rather than having her sat behind a desk and telling Bond of his mission. One of the deepest and most intriguing Bond girls has to be Elektra King, her performance has to be the best of all the Bond girls. The character of Renard is also brilliantly played by Robert Carlyle. It's great to see Robbie Coltrane reprising his role again and is my personal favourite of 007's allies, it's just a shame he gets shot.
Gadget-laden, good locations and a solid story, again it just doesn't feel quite right.
