Review of The World Is Not Enough (1999) by Mark F — 31 Aug 2010
The Brosnan Bonds are all pretty watchable but suffer from a lack of realism that can get infuriating. Flying snowmobiles that inexplicably explode when they fly into each other for example. Baddies that can't shoot Bond with automatic weapons from 10 yards.
There's no need for it and since it was rectified in the Daniel Craig reboot, this generation of Bond movies now suffer even more by comparison, taking on almost cartoonish quality at times. On the plus side, Sophie Marceau is awesome!
