Review of The World Is Not Enough (1999) by Andrew W — 12 Oct 2015
All good things must come to an end. So it was with this 19th JB film that was Q, the humorous yet stern quartermasters´ swan song. Played brilliantly by Desmond Llewelyn, whose favourite words to JB were ´now pay attention James´.
His apprentice in the wings was none other than another funny man John Cleese. He was named ´R´, since he came after Q. 1999 was also the year that Desmond was tragically killed in a road accident. More than any cast members, Mr Llewelyn held the longest record for appearing in 19 JB films.
He is sadly missed. As to the movie, yet again, interestingly we meet another villain, who would play the famous Rumpelstiltskin a decade later, Mr Robert Carlyle..
