I enjoyed the book ''The world according to Garp'' much more then this movie adaptation. But, I feel the same way about most book to movie adaptations. Robin Williams acted well, and he did a very good job portraying Garp.
I'd recommend reading the book before watching the movie of course, but if the movie makes you interested in the book.. i'd highly suggest reading the book. Simple as that.
