I'd never heard of John Irving prior to watching the movie but afterward went straight after Hotel Newhampshire which is another quirky tale.
Robin Williams is brilliant as Garp and all the cast play great roles and despite the quirkiness, there is a bit of everyone there in one way or another. It's life as we know it stripped bare. Love this movie to death.
