A solid movie and probably the best adaptation that could possibly be done for the book. After reading the book it's interesting how this movie was able to select a theme from the plethora of themes from the book and how it just runs with it.

Clearly, the movie focuses on the strand of femininity that's running strong in the 60's with the frustration that Garp experiences despite being the women movement leader's son. It is apparent that the movie has scaled the strong sexuality of the movie to produce this film, but still preserving the theme of lust.

For a movie made in 1982, I'm sure the shock factor was strong. Glenn Close and Robin are great in portraying the main characters, but the other characters were bland like the actors you will typically see in Lifetime movies.

I probably recommend this movie for people who've read the book, otherwise, there isn't much value watching it.
