Review of The Words (2012) by Allison F — 08 Sep 2012
Jesus 16%? No wonder! The best way that I can put it is this: It just drew too much attention to itself. Costume design was pompous. Set dec was utterly clichà (C). And while Jeremy Irons is a master at his craft... All the others (except for the young post war Jeremy Irons and his french wife), were just way too 'acty'. Bradley Cooper is good at times though! Hi s father (JK SImmons) and publisher (Ron Rifkin) were good, as could be expected. Great story idea - very poorly executed.
Too bad, because it was great to see Montreal posing as new york in every new frame!
