Review of The Words (2012) by Stefany B — 18 Sep 2012
Taking Shakespeare's idea of a story within a story, 'the Words' tells the remarkable tale of two desperate, aspiring writers and the theme of plagiarism. I did not know what to expect when entering the theater and it took the longest for the plot to reveal its true self and become clear; however I am in love with this film! The characters, the music, the lighting, the overall tone of the movie was brilliantly fitting.
2011's sexiest man is continually awesome as ever in everything, from waking up confused in Vegas to taking the everything pill. Bradley's character was surprisingly moral and I do not believe that anyone in his position, outside of the a film or novel, would have told the truth.
The outer story, with Denis Quade, was seemed completely random but tied the movie into an even more complex event. One thing that should have been more obvious was the point to Olivia Wilde's character as they never really closed on her relevance to the story.
There was a sort of soap-opera quality that was seen mainly in the ending. This was an amazing storyline that illustrated how much depth and emotion writers have to access in order to create a masterpiece.
The movie had an intense dramatic presence that I wish everyone would travel to the cinema to experience.
