I really liked the basic story as well as some of the performances, though the movie seems to be on a pedestal and is shouting a little too loud about how serious it is. The director should have taken some cue's from Jeremy Irons and taken the more subtle route.
He should get a supporting actor nod, even if the movie isn't that great.
