Getting past the fact that the movie is about some peadophile........ this is the strength of the performance bacon brings to this film he sincerely makes you feel for this man who has committed horrible crimes ~ the film in essence does not exude classic but overall the raw emotion and complexity bacon brings to the story merits the viewer to sympathise with his character who could easily be a similar person living across the street from your childs school.
