Review of The Woodsman (2004) by Steve R — 17 Mar 2008
Reviewing Stir of Echoes just reminded me of this film. Not only an excellent performance by Kevin Bacon but a very brave one as I doubt very much whether this film will get the credit it deserves due to it's subject matter.
I doubt I will watch it again because of one scene in particular that made me more uncomfortable than almost any other scene in any other movie I can remember. (The scene on the park bench for those of you who have seen it).
However, I'd thoroughly recommend you watch this film at least once, especially if you like Bacon as an actor. Just be aware that if you have kids it will probably make you very, very uncomfortable. Personally I think that's what makes Bacon's performance so bloody good.
