Review of The Woman in Black (1989) by Christi T — 03 Jan 2015

Here's a prime example of a movie reviewers probably haven't seen since they were kids and perpetuate a tale of it being more terrifying than it actually is. There's two good scares tops and The Woman herself is so poorly fleshed out that when she does show up to wreck havoc it seems as though it's for no other reason than she's a right c*nt.

Not to rag on it. I mean, it's got a definite atmosphere and the shots wherein The Woman manifests herself to stand ominously in the background of the proceedings is spooky... but the whole effort feels beyond tame. I know they could've gotten away with more on 1980's TV.
