Review of The Wolverine (2013) by Spencer S — 15 May 2014
It must be said that about the first hour of this film might in fact be the most mature, most dignified, most non-comic book comic book movie ever made, the acting (especially from Jackman), writing, directing, even action all feel like they push the boundaries of the superhero movie, but it all devolves into mindless entertainment by the end which isn't bad, but contrasts so sharply with the beginning you can't help but say: "So Close, and Yet So Far.
..".
