Review of The Wolverine (2013) by Matt F — 05 May 2017
The story is interesting enough, and the action sequences are certainly engaging, but the film is dragged down by a lack of clear character motivation paired with a weak climax and ending. Hugh Jackman is, as per usual, wonderful in the role of Wolverine.
Other characters lack depth, but Logan, who the film is centered around is dynamic as ever, despite lacking strong motivation for the majority of the picture. Certainly not among the best in the X Men franchise, but it never sinks to "X Men Origins: Wolverine" depths.
