Review of The Wolverine (2013) by Jacob B — 01 Jun 2017
The Wolverine isn't without its flaws, primarily as a direct sequel to The Last Stand. But, as Logan's second solo outing after Origins, the film greatly improves having a darker storyline than other X-Men films along with another magnetic performance from Hugh Jackman, action sequences that go beyond mindless killing including a fun action scene on board a train, a stunningly created Silver Samurai who I found to be visually appealing and also a few lessons in Japanese culture and honour.
Perhaps still not quite the X-Men free Wolverine movie that everyone wanted but still an improvement over both Origins AND The Last Stand.
