The Wolverine is the second film to the Wolverine series, and it stars Hugh Jackman in a comic book adaptation that takes place after X-Men: The Last Stand which Wolverine has grown tired of fighting and of his healing power, but when he got asked to go to Japan to say goodbye to a person that's very rich, he accepts it and IchirÅ? Yashida asked him to give away his healing powers and become a human.

Before it came out, I saw that it had Darren Aronofsky as the director for it, and I was hyped up for it, until he departed and was replaced by James Mangold which got my expectations down a bit, but was still optimistic about it.

I remember loving it, and when I watched it again, I think that it's a great film. Hugh Jackman is charismatic as usual for Wolverine and is always the right choice for that character, and the other cast members are good too.

When it gets to the part where he loses his healing power, that aspect right there made it better than X-Men Origins: Wolverine because there was a sense of danger with the main character as the Wolverine can actually die.

I like the chemistry that the main character has with the girl that he's trying to protect, and I also like the hero and bodyguard chemistry too. I always get fond of seeing Japanese lore of the samurai as I find them interesting, and it does relate to Wolverine for what he is.

The action scenes were really surprising to me of how good it is because I forget that James Mangold directs the action scenes really well and fast. The writing by Mark Bomback and Scott Frank is well written, and it seems more understandable of the main character than his previous one did.

The only problems that I can think of it are that one of the villains is a bit weak and forgettable, and the last act, while still entertaining to watch, is a bit cartoonish as it somewhat takes out of the very serious route that it was in.

There's some good humor in it, and the effects look really good too. The Wolverine is what I wanted out of it, and now that there's a third film that's going to be the last film that Hugh Jackman is going to play that character, that it's directed by Janes Mangold also, and it's rated R, I'm very curious to see his end film coming up.
