Review of The Wolverine (2013) by Anh H — 04 Jul 2014
Out of the whole X-Men franchise this is the worst of the bunch. The film started well with another flash of Logan's past, the time he can remember, during WWII. But the film soon descents into farce with Logan living the life of a hermit after the events of The Last Stand & the death of his beloved Jean Grey.
The train scene was just stupid so the least said the better. Unlike the other Wolverine movie this is poor & an opportunity has been missed with much to look forward too. There are saving graces & Logan's dead pan humour is still present.
The fact they tried to humanise & make The Wolverine more vulnerable & make us love him more was a tad of target but it just empathised the point how jealous we are of his abilities. They just didn't spend enough time on his face to face meeting with mortality but maybe I'm just clutching at straws cos you can't pack everything in to a two hour movie!
