Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Familiar S — 02 Jan 2016
Undoubtedly the best black comedy I have ever seen so far, it's a pity that I only got to see it now, years after its release. I didn't like the last Scorsese-Dicaprio teamup in "Shutter Island", I thought it was unnecessarily too long, but this one is just about perfect. It is funny, thought-provoking and at times even touching.
Dicaprio is just amazing in this movie, another of the long list of reminders why he is one of the very best actors of his generation. Jonah Hill and Margot Robbie also deserves special mention, they were a big part of why the movie worked so well.
The sex scenes were numerous and quite graphic, and while I enjoyed them very much it also meant that not everyone will get to watch the movie. At any rate, it is a great movie, one I won't hesitate watching again and again ...
