Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Yash B — 02 Apr 2016
This is a wild, compelling, and highly enjoyable biopic. This film has many laughs throughout and a lot of intense drama in the mix. First off, DiCaprio is the best aspect of this film, hands down, He is phenomenal here, and I'll be rooting for him Oscar night.
This movie is not for everyone though, there is content that may make some people shy away from it. The fact that its three hours, makes all of the gratuitous content feel lesser I have to admit. Its one of those movies where you can start to like very dislikable people.
Jonah Hill was off the chain too, and this film is bound to take his career to whole new levels. I do think my favorite parts of the film are the first and last third, but this will vary for everyone.
Still, this rise and fall story is a relevant and fascinating story for our generation. Ultimately its a fun, exciting, edgy, and exhilarating experience.
