Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Money G — 23 Nov 2017
A hustler anthem. A capitalist proclamation. This movie shows not the million little guys that lost money, only the few who profited on the backs of others. The soundtrack is excellent. Matthew McConaughey steals the scene with his heart-beating delivery.
Margot Robbie is wonderful. Jonah Hill does a better Adam Sandler impression than Adam could do himself. This movie lacks the reflective conclusion that demonstrates its point. There is no point besides blatant maximalism, it just doesn't show all the negative effects of excess.
