Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Alex M — 25 Oct 2016
I've seen The Wolf of Wallstreet about 3-4 times now and it never he's boring. Marty Scorsese has created an engaging, visually stunning, highly laugh inducing comedy about a man who cares about nothing more than sex, drugs, and money (lots of it).
Under any other director but Marty, this movie and its characters would've seemed pretentious. But since we have a master like Scorsese behind the camera, we end up rooting for Jordan and his jolly band of drug popping pals.
And while they do treat women like the gun on the sole of your shoe, it feels appropriate considering the time they live in. This is one of Scorsese's best in recent years and I can't wait to see what he does next.
I highly recommend you check it out, just not with your kids or parents.
