Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Louis D — 29 May 2017

Arguably this is the best performance of Leonardo DiCaprio's long, successful career With DiCaprio's Oscar winning role in 'the revenant' as a close runner up. However good the acting of Jonah hill or the directing talent of Martin Scorsese, the unsung hero behind this film is the writer Terence winter.

It is quite amazing how a film which lasts over 3 hours does not bore you within its dialogue as it's kept witty, clever and interesting throughout its run time. The direction of the film is in typical Scorsese style of freeze frames, tracking shots and narration, although used again and again it never fails to keep your attention.

While this film has received endless criticism for promoting the lifestyle of a wealthy stockbroker (I.e excessive amounts of drugs, solicitation of prostitutes, fraud etc), it is undoubtedly hard to not enjoy as every single character in one way or another are likeable and this works so well that when coming to the conclusion of the film you are still rooting for the morally twisted Jordan Belfort to beat the system.

Wolf of Wall Street is a instant classic.
