Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Rodrigo B — 13 Mar 2016
This movie moves at warp speed for the first half or so, and definitely has an energy to it. I think the point where I started liking it less is when it went from being a movie about Wall Street greed (much like The Big Short) to a movie about Jordan Belfort's drug addiction.
The scene where he has to get back from the country club made me particularly uncomfortable. As good as Leo is in this movie, the scenes I liked the most involved some of the minor characters, like the ones with Matthew McConaughey and Kyle Chandler.
And Margot Robbie...wow. I think if this had been closer to two hours than three it may have been a worthy Best Picture nominee.
