Review of The Wolf of Wall Street (2013) by Rob O — 12 Aug 2017
Scorsese created a brave production, 'glorifying' Belfort's lifestyle. This is what happens if one succeeds triumphantly in a capitalist society. It's refreshing to watch, because you get to make up your own mind on whether or not you like Belfort or not.
The director hasn't made it crystal clear that he is a bad person (even though he negatively affects thousands of people). The deeper message about capitalism is great, but honestly it's a fun movie to watch that appeals to the dark masculine in men and probably some women too.
