Review of The Wolf Man (1941) by Aaron K — 23 Feb 2010
A solid effort that has stood the test of time. Sure some aspects are dated and the impact isn't likely to be nearly as strong today as it was then, but the good outweighs the bad. The performances are all excellent as is the cinematography.
The score is chilling and the film has a real spooky fog-filled atmosphere. It's also well paced. The make-up effects, which of course have been eclipsed since, are still very cool and the production design is beautifully done.
Try watching this one with the lights out on a dark and foggy night.
