Review of The Wizard of Speed and Time (1989) by Jeff B — 21 May 2009
When I was really young I would go to a video store all the time and I would always pass by the cover of this movie, but I never rented. So of course, when I was at the video store and saw this movie I knew I had to finally rent it.
It's a crazy movie about this guy who lives in Hollywood and wants to make movies. He's great with visual effects and has been asked to make a film for a studio, meanwhie a bet in the studio is taking place that the filmmaker won't get the film completed.
This is obviously a labor of love, Mike Jittlov did pretty much everything in this film, he's the writer, actor, director, producer, editor, visual effect, and everything else. It's pretty impressive for such a low budget film, and it's sort of gotten a cult following, but it's just a shame that Jittlov hasn't really done much since this.
Anyway, I'm glad I finally saw it, it's a crazy movie but it's entertaining.
