Review of The Wizard of Lies (2017) by Grant H — 15 Jul 2017

Robert DeNiro is excellent and some good scenes saved this movie from being completely unwatchable. But the greatest problem of this movie is its exaggeratedly subjetive approach. Both the movie which the movie is based on and the screenplay made the Bernie Madoff sort of a poor little kid in the middle of his own shit.

It's not a good biopic because it constantly forces the audience to accept an ideia that most of the people will not accept. A biopic like this must give a chance to the audience to develop a personal opinion, not to force them into "swallowing" one.
