Review of The Wizard (1989) by Jason R — 02 May 2010
You got a "serious" drama about Nintendo games, Fred Savage, the Power Glove, and the first glimpse of Super Mario Bros. 3. What's not to like? Of course it's extremely cheesy but what do you expect about a movie that is pretty much a video game commercial? Most of the movie is ridiculous, but there are some funny dialogue sequences though which made me giggle.
Savage actually does a good job playing the kid he's supposed to be. Plus two New Kids on the Block songs are featured!
