Review of The Witches of Eastwick (1987) by Martin S — 12 Oct 2008
Too much philosophizing, too many wigs, far too many ridiculous scenes (like the "magic" tennis match)...a shame, really, since this movie has a pretty awesome cast. Nicholson is great as the devil, but the film just sort of dawdles along, featuring scenes where the characters just talk and talk and talk instead of doing anything particularly witchy.
And when they do, it's usually something completely ridiculous, like flying around above a swimming pool laughing. Too bad.
