Review of The Witches (1990) by James H — 21 Feb 2010
I remember seeing some of it as a kid and finally watching the whole thing it was enjoyable. I read the book when I was younger and it creeped me out. The movie is rather creepy too. The witches are so weird especially the one at the beginning.
The Grand High Witch looks really good and the transformations to the mice are well done. The real mice and puppet mice switch rather well and what they were able to do was cool. I did enjoy the movie because of the cool technical aspects and the story seemed to move along well.
Overall, it is a kind of spooky childrens film.
