They start the movie off very interestingly with a fairy tale of sorts that just so happens to take place in one of the most beautiful countries, Norway, and one that's on my top wish list to visit.

That reveal where they show the girl in the painting, kind of sent shivers down my spine. That little girl was so cute. So sad to see what happened to her. Hopefully she gets set free from the painting one day. This is such a brilliant concept and one that I've never seen in a movie. It gets the creative wheels going for me. And the way she ages in painting as well as time goes on.

I love seeing Mr. Bean's face in this movie. Always a good laugh with him around. The grandmother in this movie, has to be one of the coolest I've seen in a movie. Smoking cigars and what not.

Those witches look so disgusting. I'm glad they exaggerated their look. That way, when they all die, we feel no pity for them. They're really are wicked. And Angelica Huston does such a great job at being the ugly wicked witch of the West. I think it's pretty funny how there were a couple of guy witches at the banquet.

The special effects, lighting, and make up are really well done. The camera angles used in this movie are great. The mice in this movie are so cute. The way there were able to get the mice to follow a certain path and film it is remarkable. It's almost almost like the mice were the stunt men themselves. I admire this movie a whole hell of a lot. A lot of painstaking detail was given to this movie, and you can tell.

I think it was amazing seeing what might have been the influence for a specific scene in the movie Ratatouille. The scene where Remy is trying to get across the kitchen but keeps getting moved around by the cooks. They thought of everything. There's a specific scene where I thought it was going to be a plot hole but it all made sense when I saw it.

Overall, I love going into a movie and not thinking much of it only to be completely surprised at how good it is. I shouldn't have expected less from Nicholas Roeg, who made one of my favorite horror movies of all time, 'Don't Look Now'. I love this movie and I'll be watching it again.
