Review of The Witch (2016) by Patrick W — 22 Aug 2016
No real way to know how realistic this actually is, but it feels terrifyingly realistic. Robert Eggers did an excellent job researching the dialects of late 1600s New England and writing the script as such.
The film starts out kind of slow but then ramps into a story of paranoia between the family. It's not "scary" as far as jump scares as much as it is making you get an eerie feeling when watching it.
