Review of The Witch (2016) by V G — 18 Sep 2016
The VVitch is awesome. Slowly, and unrelentingly building tension, we see this pious family torn apart by paranoia, and fear of a witch in the woods.
The acting is absolutely top notch, especially Ralph Ineson. You really feel for his plight as this man who believes in God so strongly coming to grips that the devil might be trying to destroy his family, but tries not to let it show to keep the family out of fear...just so well done.
Very atmospheric, and beautifully shot, and representing the 1600's so believably.
Highly recommended.
