Review of The Witch (2016) by M Y — 22 Sep 2016
The reviews and buildup for this film remind me of the story of the emperor who has no clothes. Seems it was nearly universally lauded, and for the life of me, I cannot figure out why. The Witch was devoid of any comprehensible plot or storyline, and lacked any character development whatsoever, which is unfortunate for a movie in this genre.
At times, it seemed that the filmmaker included random scenes that added no value to the story, other than to convey a sense of barbarism. Horrible picture.
