Review of The Witch (2016) by Marie-Charlotte G — 25 Jan 2017
A brilliant debut for the director, one of th ebtter horror films out there. Sufficiently open ended to interpret in several directions such as did it all really happen or is this an example of one person's mental illness? A metaphor for sexual awakening? The demonic? Slow and creepy build up, very fine acting, nice period piece.
