It was really hard to follow the dialogue. due to the very heavy Old New England accents. The father's lines were completely unintelligible for the most part. Subtitles would have helped tremendously.
Also, some of the scary scenes were so dark that I couldn't make out what I was looking at. The story had potential and the ending was spooky, but having to fight to understand the dialogue and to make out the images was just too much of a task.
After reading a full plot description on Wikipedia, I'm kinda ticked off that I couldn't experience it as a viewer.
